Education
Dr. Page received his DDS degree from the University of Maryland in l957. In l963 he earned a Certificate in Periodontics and in l967 a Ph.D. in Experimental Pathology from the University of Washington.
Professional Activites
He is Professor of Periodontics and Director of the Regional Clinical Dental Research Center, School of Dentistry and Professor of Pathology in the School of Medicine at the University of Washington. Dr. Page was in part-time private practice of Periodontics for 36 years.
He was elected to the Presidency of both the American and International Associations of Dental Research and he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Periodontal Research from 1984 to 1999.
Publications
He has written over 250 scientific articles, a monograph and a textbook on Periodontics and a monograph on Clinical Trials in Periodontics.
Recognitions
His contributions have been recognized by an honorary Doctor of Science degree awarded by Loyola University; the Gies Award, Fellowship Award and a Special Citation from the American Academy of Periodontology, and the Basic Science Award from the International Association for Dental Research.
He was chosen as the Washington Dental Service Distinguished Professor of Dentistry at the UW in 2000, and he is an honorary member of the British Society of Periodontology. He was the l999 recipient of the Norton Ross Award for Clinical Research, the second highest honor bestowed by the American Dental Association. He was selected as the year 2000 Distinguished Alumnus of the UW School of Dentistry, and the American Association designated him as Distinguished Scientist in 2001 for Dental Research.
He has lectured and presented courses on various aspects of periodontology through out the world.
